The passive audio filters are easily changed, and adjust the frequency range of your Audéo PFE in-ear earphones to your individual preferences to give you full, crystal-clear sound.

The purpose of the audio filters is to provide you with the best possible sound quality that you would hear if you were not wearing ear tips. Because everyone’s hearing is different, with Audéo PFE in-ear earphones you can choose the audio filter that suits you best. The filters also protect the sound tube from dirt, and this can extend the life of your headphones.

The green audio filter delivers Perfect Bass.

Technologischer Hintergrund

Wearing in-ear earphones such as the Audéo PFE alters the transfer function of the ear canal.

  1. The natural resonance of the ear canal is removed.
  2. The amplification provided by the external ear is removed.

The headphones must compensate for this to enable you to hear sound as if it were natural. Because everyone’s hearing is different, the compensation process varies from person to person, but standard headphones are unable to do this.

In-house studies have shown that, when headphones exactly reproduce the response curve of the unobstructed ear, most people hear the sound as being very aggressive.

The response curve of Audéo PFE in-ear earphones is a compromise between a frequency range that compensates for the curve of the unobstructed ear and one that emphasizes bass and high-frequency sounds. This is what most people prefer.

In order to cover the widest possible range of user preferences we offer three audio filters.
