I own and have owned quite a few different types of headphones from Sennheiser, Sony, Philips and Grado, and I've got a set of Shure E4C IEM's (about double the price of these PFE). I can honestly say that since I got these ones, I haven't looked back. I used to use the Shure phones in the car and on the train/bus/..., and a full size phone like the Grado SR60 at home, the PFE's are so comfortable that I can't go back to any other set without some complaint or other. And they sound quite as nice as the Shure E4C (though not identical), without the annoying tendency to pop out of my ears every 10 minutes, or the in-ear ache after a prolonged use. After about a year, I sent my first set of these back because a wire had started to crack, and I recieved a replacement set from an obviously new batch, with a more sturdy, rubbery cable which had been reinforced at the point where mine had been cracking. I honestly hope these or similar headphones will be around when I'll need a new set someday, 'cause the choice 'll be easy: do me another pair of Phonak Audéo PFE ;) I wish whoever reads this and goes out to buy a set, as much pleasure with them as I've had... das was ich da höre ist unglaublich! zuerst war ich etwas enttäuscht, weil die bässe etc. nicht so recht durchdringen mochten. doch dann hab ich die ohrfilter gewechselt und siehe da! wichtig: die dinger müssen gut "sitzten" (hatte die mittleren drin und das machte zuwenig zu)... das was da jetzt aus meinen ohren dröhnt ist besser als jeder sure und UE 3-weg hörer den ich besitze...fantastisch das ding!!!! (und endlich mal ein öhrer, der nicht aus dem ohr rausrutscht!!) gratulation an die macherjungs

Diese Kopfhörer sind einfach der Hammer. Die Sound Qualität ist hervorragend und treffen gerade mit den schwarzen Filtern für mehr Bass voll meinen Geschmack. Darüber hinaus verfügen sie über einen hohen Tragekomfort und sind schön klein - was will man mehr. Für diesen Preis eine unschlagbare Wahl!

Diese Ohrhörer sind für mich einfach die besten!Ich benutze sie mit einem iPod Touch und habe auch Ohrhörer von AKG und von Dr.DRE. Aber die Ohrhörer von Audeo sind einfach Spitze.Der klare und doch volle Klang sind wunderbar,ich könnte damit den ganzen Tag Musik hören.Meine bevorzugte Musikrichtung ist R&B wie zum Beispiel von Joss Stone u.ä. Ich habe von diesem Produkt zufällig in der Zeitung gelesen und dann sofort bei der Fa.Hansaton in Graz gekauft. mfg Bernhard TAMM,Graz

I love my PFE! It really blocks away almost everything around you - so no more listening to annoying chats of other people in the train, just music out of my PFE! Great also to work out as the earphones stay in your ears. And last but not least: Good also for my ears as I don't have to turn the music too loud...

Obwohl ich am Anfang sehr skeptisch war, dass man mir Hilfe bat, wollte ich trotzdem versuchen, meine Kopfhörer auf Garantie zu reparieren. Das Problem war, die Kopfhörer waren aus Amerika gekauft. Ich ging aber zu einem von Phonak angegebenen Händler (Amplifon an der Sonnenstraße in München), dort war das Personal sehr höflich und sehr nett. Ich dachte die Garantie aus Amerika wäre in Deutschland nicht gültig, aber die Frau von Amplifon hatte bei Phonak angerufen, und sagte alles wäre in Ordnung. Ein Zettel mit dem Bestelldatum der Kopfhörer, damit man sehen konnte, dass die Garantie noch gültig war (2 Jahre), war alles was ich brauchte. Eine Woche später wurde ich von Amplifon angerufen, die Kopfhörer waren zurück. Ich war aber erstaunt als ich ein ganz neues Paket (mit allen Bestandteilen) als Ersatz bekommen habe. Besser konnte es überhaupt nicht gehen. Super schneller Service und erste Klasse Personal. Meine 100% Empfehlung. Phonak, einfach super!

I'm not an IEM junkie and my only other "reference" quality IEM is the Etymotic ER4 so I'm not qualified to declare the PFE as THE BEST, price no object. I realize that custom fit IEMs can be in another league all together but I have no interest in that. Having said that, The PFE has continued to impress me as I continue through my large music collection. After 2 weeks of intense comparisons and testing I conclude that the PFE is extremely detailed without being too analytical which equals a non-fatiguing, fun experience.My reference HP is a modified HD 650. I find treble extension to be very good with a very pleasing, effortless and airy presentation with no perceived "roll-off". Bass extension is excellent having a fairly tight/fast output. My crude test tone session confirms a strong 20Hz~17kHz output. I use Grey filters which I find to allow better mid/HF detail with plenty of bass. Based on my testing and by the graphs which compare Grey/Black filters, I feel that the Black filters hold back the best of what the PFE has to offer. Happy listening !

I'm a tech writer who for some reason has a cube in close proximity to inside sales. If there's a god, he's got a sick sense of humor. I'd been using Bose over-the-ear noise canceling headphones and my personal laptop as my MP3 player to block the schmaltz coming over the cube walls. Effective, but cumbersome. So I recently decided to treat myself to an iTouch, and to get some quality ear buds to go with it. I've owned both Sony and Bose ear buds before and was disappointed with the sound quality of both. The Bose buds were also very annoying in that the ear tips kept popping off. After reading lots of reviews online I decided to spend a bit more than I had for the Bose ear buds and go for the Audeo Phonak buds. The sound is incredible! The sound is clean and crisp and balanced across all ranges. I'm picking up detail that was either missing altogether or else was very muddied, even with the Bose headphones. Clapton sounds awesome! They're extremely comfortable over long periods of time. They do pretty good at blocking noises in the salesman vocal range. And the ear tips have never popped off. If you're looking for thumping bass, look elsewhere. If you're looking for high-quality sound reproduction at a reasonable price, I can't recommend these highly enough.

No need to spend more money, these are the IEM's you need. I listen to them as much as possible, and I enjoy the accurate sound that they produce. I've listened to all types of music, and they have yet to disappoint. Their clarity and response, as well as accuracy is what really amazes me. I simply could not ask for a better IEM, I don't even think I'll be looking anymore, especially at the price, excellent value, not sure I can find anything better. I am really please with them, in fact most of the time I'd rather be listening to them than doing something else. I usually fall asleep with them in at night too... very comfortable. They are worth the listen, and don't be surprised if they beat out IEM's at 2-3times the price!

I own a pair of Westone 3s, MSRP $399, and after much back and forth, the PFEs deliver better sound to my ears. I am no audiophile, but I have been through more than a dozen pair of mid-priced IEMs, and nothing has had such an immediate impact as the PFEs. At their price, the PFEs are untouchable, but they also can compete with the top-tier IEMs as well. Best of all, if you hook them up to a quality HP amp, which I did, they sound even better. So they respond very, very well to amping. Only small issue I have is they can be hard to drive, depending on the player. But no matter, since a cheap FiiO E5 or E3 amp can eliminate that issue. With my Touch 2G and Sony A818, no amp needed. Just a tremendous value in IEMs. Transparency and clarity unlike any phones I have every tried, including the vaunted Ety ER4P/S. By all means, try the PFEs.

I have to say, for the price, these things can't be beat. I'd give it more stars if there was an option for that. The sound is incredible and you can tweak it to your liking. Already these are beginning to make a stir at Head-Fi.org with very many positive impressions. If you are looking for highs and mids that are smooth, detailed, and clear, and accurate bass then look no further.

Das PFE 122 welches ich über den Webshop gekauft habe, ist der Hammer! Die Comply Ohrstöpsel dichten Aussengeräusche super ab und so habe ich auf dem Weg zur Arbeit im Zug endlich meine Ruhe. Das Tollste ist die ergonomische Form der PFE. Bislang konnte ich keine Im-Ohr-Kopfhörer tragen, da diese immer aus meinem Ohr herausfielen. Super Produkt!!

So I admit it. I’m an audio geek. a headphone junkie. an… AUDIOphile. Not the scum of the earth, just someone who’s hooked on the eargasm like music was smack. *sigh* I admit it. It was time to fess up. That felt good. What feels better is letting all y’all in on a secret. Nay, a PHENOMENON in the audio world. One of the four Top Tier Hearing Aid manufacturers, Phonak, has done a bit of research and released the Audeo PFE. The PFE in Audeo PFE stands for “Perfect Fit Earphone” and for me that’s the case. They make it easy: The package provides a pair of medium Comply foam tips standard, Grey mid bass filters standard, and a bunch of accessories. The accessories are: a set of Silicone Ear Tips in Small, Medium (bassiest fit for me) and Small, and a Filter Kit, as well as a dual compartment bag; one compartment for the ‘phones, and another for your ‘kit of tools and accessories. The Filter Kit is novel: it is a rectangular affair with an easy to find blue tool, where the screw end is the business end that you use with the filters. Go AHEAD. TRY THE GREY ONES FOR A DAY OR THREE. With your favorite BENCHMARK RECORDINGS. Then Rinse and repeat with the BLACK FILTERS… Use the Silicone Ear Guides.They just slide around the wires and provide a more comfortable fitting experience. They help make the earphones sensation-ally “invisible” to the music listening. I still can’t get over how much it sounds like you’re at a live concert, just without the moshing, jibber-jabber, and drunken idiots. That was an excited rambling from my journal last night… Thought you’d all enjoy it for the genuine quality it posesses. Yes, It sounds like a Live Concert. And if they had that commercial available on CD of the guy doing the Phone Advertisement saying “you could hear a pin drop” it would reproduce FAITHFULLY with these earphones. Enough Said. As for MY experience with Audio I’ve listened to Any Manner of Audio Source from Vinyl to MP3 to MiniDisc to FLAC to ALAC to WAV to CDDA to OGG to ACC to MP4’s .m4a… On Any Manner Of Device from AK1200s to The Good Sony Discmen (metal) to Panasonic MiniDisc Recorders to Cowon D2s to Creative Zen Vision W’s to nice Kenwood and Aiwa stereos, and even, wait for it, mmmm… ONKYO. Yeah Baby Yeah. Throw in some Nakamichi to round things out and I can say, I’ve HEARD. From all Genres. Personally I like the Grado SR-60 Headphones. They’re my fallbacks. I started out with the most expensive Fontopias from Sony in the 80s because I wanted to dream with my music… Detours aside… Best Personal Set has been Etymotic’s ER*4 series the S and the P depending on Headphone Amp. Yeah I was one of those till my amp died. Then after a few un mentionables I found V-Moda and the Bass Freq’s they go down to 8Hz at the floor (BASSment) and have bright, clear celings (hilights) so I was sold. Most recently I auditioned the JLab J2 which pulled me in with some good reviews and a novel Cobalt Magnet design but the sound was cheap and wooden and I was angry about that. Good marketing, poor product. MY opinion. However I’m glad I ran across the Anything But iPod review (or I don’t think I’d ever have found these audio-tastic marvels of SWISS engineering and Vietnamese FAB Fabrication!) and I’m just lucky. Lucky that I broke my original pair of Bass Freq’s, went shopping, bought and hated the J2’s (Thank You JLab) and went on to find abi’s review, Phonak, and the Audeo PFE’s. Now I can go to the prerecorded Rock Show… Whenever!!! This concludes my write up on Phonak’s Audeo PFE’s: clarity, silky cream-laden smoothness, articulate bass tone. sparkling highs that fail to fatigue your ears. Black passive filters, medium silicone tips, silicone ear guides. “bassiest” sound for MY Ears. I’ve even dared to try listening sans filters, aka for that nude sound, and BOY can these BLINGIN GLITTER!!! Talk about hearing a pin drop! DEtailed. The soundstage is _impeccable_ Like being at a LIVE SHOW. YES! I’m bloody _serious_.

Perfect is what I would say about these Ive been all over the forums talking about them. Head Fi, AnythingButIpod to be specific. Get these! The Phonaks deliver, accurate highs, mids, and lows this is a must have for those in search for the top of the in ear headphone chain. To Phonak make the next pair the same! Just Better. More clear, more precise, at the same low price. Since people seem to look at the price and the company name an go "I never heard of this company before "RAISE THE DAMM PRICE" Maybe then they will look at them. By the way (SIDENOTE) Phonak I listen to these headphones with no filter. Pure Phonak Perfection Paridise. Thank You. That's the non-detailed posistive, heres the negative. Make the "perfect fit" claim be 100% true. Not 98%, I say 98% because sometimes I either have trouble finding a seal or when I take the out the Silicones are still in my ear! I am a audio purist meaning I only care about sound. 10/10, Comfort 9.7/10, (((!ISOLATION!)))7.5/10. Now the Isolation score depends on the kind of hard to get perfect fit. One more gripe then im done. Make the nozzle were the sound comes out longer so that they can go in the ears more and create a 2x better seal. Like the SHURES..the only reason Comfort even got a 9.7 is because of this, only reason Isolation got a 7.5 is because it suffered severely because of the SHORT nozzle make it longer please.
